The Meadows Of May

Though we each abide now
So far from that place
It's simply not true
That time can erase
My dreams of your laughter
Your sweet, smiling face
Those memories of you
Can ne'er be replaced

For how shall my thoughts of you
E'er ease in their pace?
How shall the heart you feel
E'er cease it's race?
Consumed by this hunger
Enflamed with your taste
How should I ever
Abandon this chase?

You are with me, lost Love
Myriad nights, countless days
You are next to my heart
Forever to stay
Surrounded by nature
In her bountiful grace
I sense in each flower
The scent of your trace

In the fields I find you
In the meadows of May
In the beauty of each flower
I again see your face
Together forever
Ne'ermore to stray
I am with you, as always...
In the meadows of May

My first poem, age 13
