Lost And Found

You spoke and inside I trembled
When finally I heard you last night
For your sweet Texas accent resembled
Joyous radiance resplendent and bright

Your voice was so soft and melodious
I could hear the smiles in your verse
Your intoned banter mellifluous was
Like lyrics from a heart unrehearsed

We talked as I've rarely experienced
As though you were already my wife
Is it possible, or am I delirious
That I've loved you in previous lives?

The lilt of your verbs incite passion
Sexy whispers that drive me mad
When you breathe in such sensual fashion
Other's words pale like a passing fad

The pain of my cheeks was exquisite
You made me laugh so much
I yearn for our next phonic visit
That we might keep aurally in touch

And you cried about things as I listened
We shared the anguish of your loss
So heartrending that my own eyes glistened
And I determined to dwell despite cost

I hold dear the rhythm of each sentence
Clutched tightly in memory's refrain
Held captive in all of my senses
I can't wait till we talk once again

For you are my one and only
I recognize that is true
Until you my life had been lonely
But my search for love ended with you
